Brazil and Wine
Despite the fact Brazil is a relative newcomer to the production of luxury-branded wines, it has proved very successful in strengthening its position in the market and in competing with well-established wineries in Chile or Argentina.
Brazil produces brilliant
champagnes using the classic method called "champenois". These champagnes are white, produced from Chardonnay or rosé, produced from Chardonnay-Pinot Noir. The country also produces some outstanding champagnes of the Asti type.
Moreover, there are delicious "tropical" wines Cabernet Sauvignon / Shiraz, or Moscatel in the state of Bahia. The largest production of quality red wine varieties vitis vinifera Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Tannat, Gamey, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and white varieties vitis vinifera Chardonnay, Moscato, Gewurztraminer, Riesling Italico, Malvasia is located in the south of Brazil, in the ideal conditions of the Rio Grande do Sul state. The entire production is also processed there.
The Brazilian winegrowing and winemaking industry is undergoing a period of change, involving huge investments. Some of the top oenologists, sommeliers and experts from France and Italy work in Brazil contributing greatly to the development of Brazilian winemaking industry (Michel Roland, among others).
The technological equipment currently used in Brazil for winemaking is of top world quality.
The wineries, whose products are now available in the Czech Republic (
Miolo,
Salton,
Casa Valduga, Boscato), have invested more than 47 million USD in their business during the last five years.
The wineries have received a lot of international awards in a relatively short time, including gold medals from France, Italy, Argentina, Germany, but also China and other countries.
Brazilian wines began to be imported into Europe last year and immediately won recognition and honours among wine collectors and in first-class gourmet cuisine.
The Czech Republic has been cooperating with Brazil for many years and is recognized for its experience, location and winegrowing tradition. The main activity of our company has supported the export of Brazilian wines to Europe for a long time, and so, Brazilian winemakers have chosen the Czech Republic to be their European distribution centre. Cosmopolitan Brazilian Wines, s.r.o. is one of the first companies to successfully import Brazilian wines to Europe.
